Hello World!

We are excited to publish our first blog post as we continue to build up to the launch of Holla.com in Summer 2019! First of all, welcome! We are delighted that you’ve come across us at the start of our journey and we hope you will become a frequent visitor as we grow.

The main purpose of the blog is to give you an insight into the brand, our values and the lowdown of what’s happening behind the scenes. In amongst this, we hope to give you useful bits of info on starting an online platform as we talk about our experiences with making this happen!

So what’s this Holla thing all about you might be wondering? Well, let’s break it down. We are primarily a knowledge sharing platform. We work with experts and bloggers who post inspirational, informative and educational content on our platform for the benefit of our readers.

We love content

Content is everywhere these days; we just can’t get enough of it.

According to eMarketer, in 2017 US adults spent on average 12 hours 7 minutes a day consuming media. The continuous upward trend of content consumption in recent years has resulted in a countless number of media style websites popping up all over the place.

On the one hand, it’s great; we’ve got so many different places to get our content fix from. However, many of the sites we visit are pushing out half-baked content. There is more focus on making sure that regular content is getting published on a daily basis and less focus on the content itself.

On the surface it’s all good, there’s websites that are packed full of articles, images and catchy titles, what’s not to like? However, in reality, this leads to a bad user experience.  For example, some of the points you’ve read on one article could be made on multiple other articles. An article which could be of real value to you might be hidden away under 50 articles in front.

Who really has the time to filter through all of this?

Our Approach

At Holla, we take more of a measured approach.

We understand that our readers are time-sensitive, they do not want to spend unnecessary time filtering through content which is not of interest. And when they do find an article which is of relevance, they want that article to contain all of the key points (minus any unnecessary jargon).

One of our main goals is to ensure each piece of content that gets published on Holla is detailed and unique to any other on our site. We understand that this will require constant planning and quality control checks, but we are determined to build a hub of content which will educate and inspire generations for years to come.

To achieve our goal won’t be easy and will take time but nothing good comes easy and good things take time!
